Event Description
Long known as an expert interpretive singer, Maura O’Connell pulls you with her right to the heart of every song. You may recognize her deep, rich voice from her traditional Celtic recordings or her recent album, “Naked with Friends,” featuring duets with stellar guest artists Dolly Parton and Alison Krauss. O’Connell returns to KU to perform beautifully powerful songs that blur genre lines. Journey from occasional tones of old Ireland to sparkling new jazz and pop, and to revisited classics by Van Morrison, Lennon and McCartney.
