1:00 PM - 1:50 PM Soft Skills: What Employers Want
Employers can teach you workplace specific skills and technology. What they want you to already have are soft skills. What are soft skills you ask? Communication, professionalism, critical thinking and many more. This workshop will show you how your campus job (or other job) can help you develop these skills.
2:00 PM - 2:50 PM The Washington Center Internship
The Washington Center Internship Program (TWC) is an independent, nonprofit organization serving hundreds of universities by providing students opportunities to work and learn in Washington, D.C. This program provides a unique combination of benefits: a structured, well-supported program for which interns receive academic credit from their home institutions; an extensive internship tailored to the interests of the intern, whatever his or her major; a rich program of academic coursework; lectures by national and international leaders; small group meetings with members of Congress; site visits; embassy visits; workshops and other activities that help students understand the challenges and opportunities of leadership and civic engagement; and attractive, conveniently-located apartment housing. More than 75 percent also receive financial assistance!
5:30 PM - 7:30 PM Walks with Wynnie
The event serves as an opportunity for President Hawkinson, his wife Ann Marie Hayes-Hawkinson and their dog Wynnie to interact with the KU community on a face-to-face basis. The walks begin at the president's patio and will conclude at the President's House on Kutztown Road for light refreshments.

Participants are welcome to bring their dogs. Walks will be canceled in the event of rain

Council for Exceptional Children is sponsoring Stories from South Africa
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM Swing Dance Club Weekly Dance
Swing Dance Club Weekly Dance Meeting.  The club members meet, provide instruction for the first hour, and free dance for the second hour.  All are welcome!
7:30 PM - 8:30 PM Music Around the Mediterranean
Faculty Artist Series - Maria Asteriadou, piano and Kurt Nikkanen, violin
Sailing from Spain to Italy, to Greece and Turkey with music by De Falla, Skalkottas, Say and Respighi exploring the passionate warmth, rich cultures and interactions between contemporary and traditional interpretations of their identity through music.
